Trail Overview

Mostly 50" track with several creek crossings, steep climbs, and descents. This trail winds through Aspen and Spruce forest before traveling across the Grand Mesa. There are cattle grazing, deer, elk, bears, and moose to watch out for. Start at Vega State Park in the OHV parking lot. Go up Park Creek Road and look for the start of Silver Spruce #517 on your left. This is the first section and is the most technical of the loop. Ride to the junction with 266 and go right. This is a Jeep road that takes you to the return trail. 263 (Willow Trail) will be on your right, take this up and over the Grand Mesa back to Park Creek Road. This loop can be done in either direction, if you go clockwise, you will throttle on the steeps instead of riding the brakes.
