Trail Overview

This unmarked single track starts at a small dirt area off of the paved Landfill Road that goes to the dump. It is an unmarked trailhead and there are no trail signs in this area. It starts as a wide road with lots of tracks going up the adobe clay badland hills and starting to meander on adobe ridge lines. Eventually, it narrows up into a single track and continues on the ridge lines. It keeps going over a series of climbs and descents and twisty turns. This one has easier adobe climbs and descents since it is less narrow, more gradual, and has less of a drop-off on either side of you, compared to some of the other ridge line trails in the area. The dirt is smooth with no obstacles or rocks. It ends when it intersects with another unmarked single track that came from a loop on the left, which you can keep taking to make a bigger loop back to the paved road.

Access Description

The Flat Top Peach Valley Recreation Area is a 9,700 acre trail system made up of adobe hills and rocky desert mesas with almost 100 miles of trail, and a couple open riding areas. The main staging areas are Flat Top, Peach Valley, and Elephant Skin Road, but all trails can be accessed from all staging areas. This is a highly trafficked area, especially on weekends, and has lots of blind corners around the adobe hills. It's best to visit in spring and fall to avoid the summer heat and winter snow. There is several days worth of riding here, and it's easy to make a loop of your desired length since all the trails are relatively short and connect easily.
