Trail Overview
This is a scenic and fun 2-mile long trail on mostly crushed granite and dirt. Except for a short, steeper grade at the northern end of the trail, the trail has a gentle grade throughout most of its length. Unlike its other sibling Fern 3, Fern 2 is a great introduction to the rider looking for a pretty and scenic 50" trail. The only real obstacles on this trail are some exposed tree roots and, for lack of a better word, a few sets of perpendicular 2-foot rolling dips. In shaded areas, these could catch you by surprise. The trail twists and turns through a few meadows and pine and aspen stands. It's simply a great trail to take in the mountain air and scenery.
Difficulty
Fun, smooth trail with minimal obstacles. Trail makes gentle twists and turns with only one short grade at the northern end of the trail.
