Trail Overview
BLM Route 89 is a short ATV trail in the trail system accessed off of Bean Ranch Road near Grand Junction, Colorado. It has wide swiping turns on a road width trail through pinyon pine on a desert mesa. It's mostly dirt with small loose rocks sparsely covering the trail, and is very easy. There are a couple sections with slab rock that is mostly just flat and bumpy. There are no big climbs or obstacles, but a couple very small rock ledges. This trail would be easy for all 50" vehicles and dirt bikes. It has scenic views of the Gunnison River canyon and the Grand Mesa, which is likely still covered in snow until early summer. Going south to north, the trail is a slight downgrade the whole time as it takes you off the mesa and ends at the dirt road Bean Ranch Road. Stay right at the intersection with BLM Route 90, another short ATV trail. It goes through a fence and you stay right again when BLM Route 90A is on the left. This is a mellow and scenic trail, and can be ridden as part of a larger loop in the area with ATV trails 80A, 90, 92 and 85, among other jeep roads. This is a great place to go for a half day ride or a quick day trip to do some easy exploring.
