Trail Overview

The route winds through dried-up creek beds and sandy, rutted-out canyons before making its way up to the main Mount Shavano trail. Expect gorgeous views of the southern portion of the Collegiate Peaks throughout. Although there are no camping opportunities along this route, the trail itself is worth it for the "fun factor" alone. At times, it feels closer to New Mexico or Utah than it does to Colorado. Lots of interesting moments, like mini switchbacks down into the creek bed and little canyons with rolling trails.
