Open to ALL Vehicles:5/1-11/01. Transversing into the burn-scarred forest thinned out but still provided ample shade along the pine trees. Keep an eye out for the deer. A short section of overgrowth is a reminder of the quickly changing scenery of a forest. North Fork of Middle Fork American River to the West, Middle Fork American River to the East of the trail ridge. Mosquito Ridge gives nice views of Brushy Canyon and Tanners Point. There are a few flat locations along the way to set up camp after hiking the numerous trails nearby on National Forest Highway 0096 (NFH 96). Cell Service is little to none. *Dual Road and Seasonal Snow Trail Routes* Road 0096 (Mosquito Ridge Road) is open to wheeled motorized vehicle travel by the public, except when managed as a snow trail as described in the "Special Seasonal Designations for Roads Managed as Tracked Over-Snow Vehicle Routes Table."
