Trail Overview

This one-vehicle-width trail runs into the Indian Valley area of the Anza Borrego Desert State Park and is restricted to street-legal vehicles only. It is an out-and-back route (10 miles round-trip) that is relatively flat and comprised of hard-packed dirt and shallow sand with occasional rocks protruding up 6-12 inches from the ground near the edges. The trail dead-ends at a secluded box canyon, where there is ample room to turn around or for up to five vehicles to park and camp comfortably. There is also another turnout area near the halfway point where several vehicles could camp. The trail has only a few places to allow vehicles to pass in either direction, but it is easy to see far ahead on the trail to plan for oncoming encounters with other vehicles. As this trail passes through the Anza Borrego Desert State Park, vehicles must remain on the main path to prevent damage to plants and wildlife. Cellular phone coverage is poor to absent in this valley. There are no restrooms or potable water sources along the trail. Please TREAD LIGHTLY and pack-it-out.

The route is only one vehicle wide and has few places to pull off the main path.
