Trail Overview

This trail starts at a Y intersection off the Echo Canyon Trail. It is usually marked by a sign reading "Amargosa", this sign was missing on our run. Past the sign, the trail winds its way through canyons and up and over the Funeral Mountains before descending into Nevada. There is one major obstacle on the trail, a 4-foot-high dry waterfall immediately followed by a narrow off-camber section. A high clearance 4x4 is required to navigate this obstacle and will make life easier on the rest of the trail.

This is a rugged old mining road with a few good places to camp. You may not always have cell service. As described by others there is a short, but technical section a mile or so off of Echo Canyon road that will require a high clearance 4x4 from either direction. It can be done in a full size truck but you better have rock sliders.
