Trail Overview
This trail features packed sand on an open desert with very little vegetation at first, though the sand on the east side is rather wet considering there has been no rain in a while. You'll encounter lots of whoops throughout, creating a bouncy, flowing ride. There are some drops in and out of the washes, causing slight drops to maneuver as you navigate. Superstition Mountain is to your north, Fish Creek Mountain is to your west, and the Coyote Mountains are to your southwest, giving great backdrops to your desert drive. Creosote bushes start to appear half a mile from the east side as you cross BLM 342. There is an old storage shipping container that has graffiti and a bunch of scrap metal along the way, marking an interesting landmark. The trail gets more hard pack sand and slightly smoother with more vegetation as you head west. After mile 2.5, you pop out of the vegetation and are again in an open sand desert area, fast approaching Fish Creek Mountain, where it can be hard to follow the trail, but if you look far enough, there's a cone and a signpost farther down. At mile 3, you enter vegetation again and are sometimes treated with seasonal wildflowers. After mile 4, the sand gets very loose and fine and deeper with whoops here that are fun ones to navigate. The trail crosses BLM 345, BLM 341, and BLM 201 before it ends at BLM 200.

Difficulty
This is an easy trail overall with packed sand providing decent traction through most sections. The lots of whoops add excitement, and the drops in and out of washes require attention but aren't technical. After mile 4, the very loose, fine, and deeper sand requires momentum management, and airing down is recommended. The open desert section after mile 2.5 presents navigation challenges with the trail being hard to follow, so watch for the cone and signpost. The fun whoops in the deeper sand sections reward momentum and skilled driving.
