Trail Overview
Check out two beautiful vistas overlooking the Borrego Badlands 100% off-road. Head into Arroyo Salado to set up camp or have lunch. The route starts at Fonts Point, a well know overlook in Anza Borrego State Park that is accessed by most vehicles. After visiting Font's Point, look on the right for a sign pointing to "Short Wash". Take this wash for a few miles then turn right when you see a sign for "Vista MalPais". This is an out-and-back trail that takes you to another scenic, but lesser-known overlook over the Borrego Badlands. When you are ready to leave, head back the same way and turn right when you intersect Short Wash. Take a short wash to Ella Wash and turn left. Ella wash will take you back to the pavement or Arroyo Salado Campground.

Difficulty
The route is great for stock 4x4s, but keep a look out for sandy areas on Short Wash heading towards Vista MalPais. Some tight corners, but ok for full-size trucks. Watch out for hikers on the trail.
