Trail Overview
This trail climbs over 200 feet in just over a mile, connecting Bull Creek Road South to Bull Creek Road North through scenic terrain within the Stanislaus National Forest. The route is lined with grasses, scattered brushes, and some larger trees, creating a pleasant natural corridor that follows alongside a small creek for much of its length. The trail maintains a width of one and a half vehicles, providing adequate space for maneuvering while preserving the intimate feel of the creek-side environment. The area has a rich history of mining activity and continues to have active mining claims, requiring respect for private property and existing operations along the route. The trail runs along a shelf road positioned just above the creek, offering pleasant water views and sounds throughout the journey. Two small bridges cross the creek with posted 3-ton weight limits that must be observed for safety and bridge preservation. Several off-camber sections and rutted areas add minor technical challenges that require attention but remain manageable for most drivers. The final short section presents a small hill climb through deeper fine sand that may require momentum and proper tire pressure for optimal traction.
