Trail Overview

The first part of the trail is paved. About 2/3rds of the way in, it becomes rocky and dirty. High clearance is recommended. There is one tricky hairpin about 1 mile from camp. Other than that, it is a relatively easy track. The last bit is super nice because you are driving right along the lake and you get some amazing views.

Difficulty

Most of it is unmentioned forrest road, but there are sections where it get rocky. They are not tricky, but you just cant blast through them. There is also one hairpin that is a tad tricky and visibility on the right line is a bit tough. This is a lot easier if you have a high clearance 4x4, is doable with a stock 4x4.

Super easy trail - more of a dirt road, but it's a nice drive around the lake. there were lots of people camping around the lake, understandably so - it was gorgeous today. I took the trail up towards Meadow Lake rd and then around Jackson Meadows Dam to Henness Pass, out to hwy 89. A nice solo drive (2022 Ford Bronco Badlands Sasquatch).

Started my route Friday afternoon it got busy really quick. The trail is not maintained very rocky very dusty mud groups of Odyssey and Sandrail writers. Loud music loud pipes very overcrowded will choose a better time of the season to visit again if ever.! Fire charcoal and firework restrictions were in effect, but there were still people setting up fireworks and lighting fires.

Half way between campgrounds and pavement, came up on a bulldozer with the spikes down. Tearing the trail up BIG time. leaving 1+ foot rocks in it's wake. Followed by water truck making big mud. Barely made it thru on 32's with 13 inches of clearance. 2014 Trailhawk with 3" lift. Tuesday 7/16/24 around 11am.

Very bumpy and rocky road. High clearance + 4x4 vehicles only, because there is a hairpin that requires it. Also, before and after the hairpin has rocky sections that will challenge non suitable vehicles. There was an abandoned and stuck Prius, right before the climb prior to the hairpin. I can't see how it made as far as it did.
