This is a fast and smooth 5.35-mile spur designed for efficient high-country access. The trail runs entirely through the severe 2020 Creek Wildfire burn scar, leaving a scene of skeletal snags and wide-open views. The roadbed is composed of sandy Decomposed Granite, allowing for high speeds. This is the route to key dispersed campsites with breathtaking regional views out over the San Joaquin River canyon and Balloon Dome.
