Trail Overview
This trail features a partial hard-packed sand and loose sand surface, creating varying traction conditions throughout. You'll encounter lots of uneven ground, some ruts, some off-camber sections, and some washboards that create a challenging and bumpy ride. The landscape is sparse with just a few creosote bushes dotting the terrain. Fish Creek Mountains serve as your backdrop heading southwest, while Superstition Mountain dominates the view heading northeast, providing dramatic scenery in both directions as you navigate.

Difficulty
The alternating hard-packed and loose sand demands constant adjustment in driving approach and momentum management. The combination of lots of uneven ground, ruts, off-camber sections, and washboards creates a technically demanding ride throughout. Four wheel drive is recommended, and airing down helps with both the loose sand traction and comfort over the uneven terrain. High clearance is beneficial for the ruts and off-camber sections.
