Bickel Camp (BLM EP30) begins off EP15 and ends at the historic Bickel Camp, running one vehicle wide on a gravel and sand surface with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. Deeper sand and washboards appear when the route drops into wash sections. Please watch your speed when passing through Bickle Camp.

History

Bickel Camp, established in 1934 in the Mojave Desert's Last Chance Canyon by prospector Walt Bickel, is a preserved Depression-era mining site showcasing desert ingenuity. Founded on mining claims, it features unique, self-built, and salvaged machinery, providing a glimpse into off-grid desert life. Today, it is a protected museum site preserved by volunteers, located near the Burro Schmidt Tunnel.
