Trail Overview

This trail starts out wide and lined with logs to mark the route. It weaves through the forest on an easy path that is mostly dirt covered in loose pine needles. A lot of downed logs have been cut. It goes through a couple really tight tree gaps and over a primitive little wooden bridge. It requires some really tight maneuvering between the trees at times with sharp corners, but other sections are straight and fast. You'll go past a couple big slash piles from logging work and cross a logging road a couple times. There are only a couple sections with loose or embedded rock. Near the north end it weaves right next to a giant moss-covered boulder, which is scenic and unique.

Difficulty

This is overall an easy trail because it doesn't have any big obstacles, and hardly any rock. It has a few really tight sections in the trees, but in general stays very gradual and easy.

Access Description

This trail system is easily accessible from the Hull Creek Campground, a paid forest service campground off of FS Road 3N01, south of Long Barn, California. There are lots of other dispersed campsites throughout the forest roads that can be used for staging, but know that OHVs are not allowed on the paved FS 3N01. The trails are open from April 15 to December 15, and it gets really hot and dusty here in the summer, so the best time to visit is spring and fall.
