Trail Overview
The north end of this singletrack starts at a row of boulders preventing wider vehicles from entering. It starts on a rocky hilltop that is sun-exposed with sharp loose volcanic-looking rocks. It weaves through the shrubs and few pine trees on this ridgeline, but is mostly wide open, riding over sections with more loose rock, lined with bigger boulders. Most of the time it weaves between the larger embedded rocks, but sometimes you have to ride right over them. The whole trail remains a gradual grade, going both up and down several small hills throughout the 3-mile route, so expect some small climbs and descents. The terrain is very similar throughout the first half of the route, but eventually it enters the forest on a wider path between the trees. A lot of logs were cut, but there were also lots of uncut logs, plus log debris that made the track hard at follow at times. It weaves between a lot of previously cut logs, sometimes requiring a bit of route finding.

Difficulty
The northern part of the trail is moderately easy as it remains pretty gradual the whole way, but has frequent loose rock in the trail, even though there aren't any major rock ledges or obstacles. The forest section is also moderate because there are several uncut small logs, and it requires a bit of route finding in faint sections.
