Trail Overview
This trail consists of the western part of Forest Service Road 124. The west part of this trail is right off of Forest Highway 3 and ends where Forest Road 124 turns to the East. The western part of this trail is a pretty well-maintained dirt road with a brief uphill section with a short rocky surface. As this trail passes a meadow to your right, the trail's surface becomes more rutted in areas. These ruts make the surface of this trail quite uneven in spots. You will pass under power lines and the trail will start to turn to the North. The rutted surface of this trail will continue until the trail turns to the North by Cow Hill. There are some deep mud holes especially if there has been recent rain. As this trail hugs the foot of Cow Hill, the road becomes a little more rocky but the big ruts diminish. The forest road continues and turns to the East towards Kinnickinnick Lake.
