Trail Overview
This is an excellent side trail. It goes down into the Black Canyon Creek Wash and is also known as "Curry's Trail". At the base of the wash, you will see the remains of his house, with his grave approximately 50 yards to the northeast. As you come off Turkey Creek on the north side, it is a nice, gradual decline for about a third of a mile, where it turns to a somewhat steep incline, where you need to pay attention. It is not too technical, but if you aren't paying attention, you could find yourself in an off-camber situation. The rest of the trail, down to the wash, and through until you meet back up with Turkey Creek on the south side, is a nice, relaxing, very beautiful scenic drive with a variety of rocks, abandoned mines, slate, and other natural habitations. It is common to share the road with all types of off-road vehicles, including full-size trucks, as well as hikers walking through the wash.
