Trail Overview

Trail Ss1004 is an 11-mile route that begins at the train tracks off Ss1016 and runs to a dead end at private property. A very small section crosses State Trust Land on the northwest side. The trail starts tight and slightly overgrown, then quickly opens into a wider gravel road. Early on, you'll encounter a small washout obstacle with a bypass -- nothing technical, but the soft drop-off requires high clearance. The route makes a right turn through the water tank corral known as Mandy's Well. From here, it continues as an easy gravel road. Watch your speed; unexpected washouts appear quickly. Great views of Mount Graham and the surrounding mountain ranges. Heavy livestock presence, so watch for cow traffic. You will come across multiple gates.

This trail is suitable for 2WD vehicles with high clearance. There is one obstacle along the route, but it has a bypass available. The terrain is generally straightforward with no significant technical features.
