Trail Overview

Sa1023 is an out-and-back trail that also serves as a connector to other trails in the area. The route follows a wide, rocky, and rutted track and is suitable for high-clearance vehicles. The trail offers excellent views of Mount Graham and Pima, Arizona, and connects to Sa1004 and Sa1020, with all routes returning back to Sa1004. Several camp rings are present in the area. Portions of the trail pass through State Trust land, and a permit is required for those sections. The surrounding vegetation includes desert creosote, ocotillo, and various cacti. This is an easy, well-traveled connector trail, making it a good option for beginners or as part of a larger trail riding day
