Trail Overview

P1660 starts wide and gentle, with a surface of mixed rock and gravel. The trail then quickly narrows and deteriorates to one that will guarantee paint damage with the harsh desert plants overhanging the trail at inopportune sections. There are portions of this trail that have deep cuts of erosion and water damage, wash sections with deep, soft sand, and steep hill climbs with holes, washouts, loose rock, and erosion. Overall, this trail was a fun little challenge. Near the end, there is a narrow shelf road section that leads down to a flat area where a campsite overlooks the wash. There is no cell service on this trail, or in much of this area, so offline maps are recommended.
