Trail Overview
The Microwave Station Road is a wide and easy trail, making it an excellent choice for off-roaders of all experience levels. While mostly straightforward, some sections show signs of erosion, adding light character to the terrain. The trail culminates at an old open pit mine, a fascinating endpoint for those who enjoy exploring historical sites. While the trail appears to continue past the mine it is being reclaimed by nature and was not pursued, following the TREAD LIGHTLY principals. Along the way, you'll find several campsites, some with primitive fire rings. As always, if you do decide to camp, check local and county regulations prior to having a fire as this area is prone to large and uncontrollable wildfires. Some of these campsites are perfect for an overnight stay or a scenic break. This trail offers a blend of convenience and adventure in the heart of the Arizona desert.
