Trail Overview

This is a fun and moderate single track trail through the Laguna Hills. From the south end, it starts with a steep approach to get on a ridge line. It continues side hilling along the side of some rocky desert hills, riding past ocotillos, with a few exposed spots. There is one moderate rock ledge obstacle right away that will test beginner riders as the trail is narrow and the ledge is over a foot tall. The trail splits to the right, and does some really narrow ridge riding right on the edge of a drop off. From this ridge line, you can see all the way to Mittry Lake. There are rock cairns to guide the route along the spine. It continues side hilling until it rides through a rocky ravine that leads up to a dirt road.

Difficulty

Overall this trail is more moderate due to significant exposure, narrow segments of trail, and a moderate rock ledge obstacle near the south end. This one is more appropriate for riders with more experience to navigate the exposed sections.

Access Description

There are several dirt bike trails within the Laguna Hills trail system near Fortuna Foothills, Arizona. There isn't a formal staging area, but riders can access the trails through the system of roads north of the canal. There are a couple of parking and staging options. On the east side of the trail system, you can park at the west end of Adair Park Road and enter the trail system at the levee. There are several small camp spots along the canal on the levee road. On the northwest side of the trail system, you can also enter at the other levee (from South Laguna Dam Road), and you'll find easy dispersed camping here as well. You can also access this trail system from Mittry Lake, which is a popular spot for camping as well.
