Trail Overview

Lower Woody's wash is relatively simple to get to, the trail leading to the wash is rated at a 4, so expect deep ruts and steep climbs. Once you arrive at the wash it can be deceiving, looking as if only small rocks and sand, however, the trail does offer some great 4-foot boulders perfect for crawling over as you travel down the wash. This trail offers a great place to practice crawling over boulders, and If you are looking for more of a challenge, try running Woody's Wash, the entrance is about 100 yards from the start of Lower Woody's.

Difficulty

The beginning of the trail is simple offering only sand and small boulders, the middle of the trail you will enter a rock garden where you will need to be locked on at least the rear axle, and front and rear if running during rainy season. Boulders can be up to 4 feet tall, so picking the correct line is essential.

I found myself accidentally coming across this trail with my wife and daughter in our new Honda Talon X4 which is 100% stock. I was pretty worried about getting through it but it managed it excellent. Gor sure the most difficult trail I've been on so far.

Access Description

Take Highway 79 to East Price Station Road. Then north on North Mineral Mountain Road where it will drop into the end of the wash if you wish to run it backward. Otherwise, continue on until you reach Cottonwood Cayon Rd and turn west and continue until you reach to start of the trail.
