Trail Overview
This trail is a beautiful hidden gem. It is an out-and-back to where the General Grant's Mine once was. Now, there are just large mossy rock formations. Most of the trail is easy, with a rating of 2 until the last wire cattle gate near the trail's end. Then, the trail becomes a 3 to drive around the old mining area. The trail begins by running above the Coyote Wash and then weaves its way into the hills. In the springtime, everything is green and lush. The views of the surrounding mountains are a delight. There are tons of large saguaro cacti all along the trail and up into the hills. It is well worth taking this trail. Most of it is dirt. There are a few small washes to cross and a few areas that turn to loose gravel. The very end of the trail has a longer, loose hill climb to get up toward the lumpy, mossy rocks. This is a nice, quiet, secluded area. The end is tucked into a little valley, and there are certainly spots to disperse camp. There is only one bar of intermittent AT&T 5G service. This area gets extremely hot in the summertime. Bring lots of extra water and supplies if traveling during the summer months.

Difficulty
The rating is for a longer, loose, steep hill climb and descent to access the old mining area near the trail's end. A couple of sandy washes to cross and narrow sections with overgrown desert trees may cause paint damage.
