Trail Overview

Forest Service Road 9603E is two miles long and begins just off Reimer Road, leading to the Squaw Peak Road Guided Trail. At the very beginning of the trail, there is a gate that you must open and close behind you. From there, a short incline takes you up onto a mesa. As you traverse the mesa, the trail becomes fairly rocky, with small rock outcroppings and loose stones along the path. This section can become a muddy mess after any rainfall or snowmelt. As you continue east, juniper trees become more abundant. The eastern portion of the trail is very rocky, with loose stones and small rock gardens scattered across its surface. The trail ends just past Durfee Tank, where it intersects with the Tomkins #513 Guided Trail.
