Trail Overview
FR 259 is a beautiful trail that meanders through a healthy forest of ponderosa pine. The trail itself is one lane with no obstacles, except for dried mud ruts that could become problematic after rain or during monsoon season. There is no cell service in the area, so offline maps are suggested, as the forest is dense at times. There are sporadic groves of aspen trees as well as the typical grasses and sage that usually accompany this type of forest. Along this trail, you might see deer, elk, turkey, and other wildlife. This area was burned in recent years by wildfire, so don't be alarmed at the charred remains of trees and stumps marking where the spread was.

Difficulty
This is an unmaintained trail that could be problematic during monsoon season or after a rain, as it is predominantly dirt. While there is room to pass between the trees, the trail itself is one lane wide.
