Trail Overview
This just under 2 mile trail (4 miles out and back) that climbs over 100 feet, starting on Pole Line Road and ending at the Yuma Proving Grounds border. The trail immediately climbs up a ridgeline and follows it to the very end, giving you nice views of the surrounding canyons and the Trigo Mountains throughout. The surface is hard-packed dirt with small pebble-sized rocks and sand, creating solid traction. The trail does run along a cliff edge at times, so be cautious and respect the exposure. The route is sparsely lined with a few bushes and ocotillo, keeping the views open. Be on the lookout for the wild mustangs that roam this area and add to the remote desert experience.

Difficulty
This is an easy trail with straightforward navigation and solid surface conditions. The hard-packed dirt with small pebble-sized rocks makes for easy driving. The main consideration is the cliff-edge sections, which require attention and respect for the exposure, but the trail surface itself is not technical. The ridgeline position provides good visibility for navigation.
