Trail Overview
This easy two-track starts out crossing flat desert terrain on the mesa, gradually winding back toward the mountains. There are several excellent, flat camp spots along the route with wide open 360-degree views, especially looking north and east toward the Sierra Anchas and the Salome Wilderness. As you continue, the mesa narrows, and the trail follows the spine of the ridge with washes dropping away on both sides, while steadily gaining elevation the entire way. About two-thirds in, you'll pass through a final gate and begin climbing along the narrower ridge with beautiful views in every direction. The road continues to tighten with rolling drop-offs on both sides, briefly dips, and then climbs onto a shelf road that eventually dead-ends. Most vehicles should plan to turn around before the very end, near the final dip, as the trail becomes extremely tight on a shelf section with no suitable turnaround space. Looking back near the end provides some of the best views of Roosevelt Lake and the surrounding valley.

Difficulty
This trail is rated 3/10 due to the mostly easy terrain and gradual climb, with minimal obstacles along the route. The main considerations are the narrowing ridge line, limited turnaround options for full-size vehicles, and light exposure near the end, rather than technical difficulty.
