Trail Overview

The west side of this trail starts from the ATV trail and is really overgrown and tight between the bushes, which are spiky with hidden cacti. There are tons of branches that whack you at eye level. You might not come out of this one unscathed by the plants. It starts in the hills, then goes into a wash. The trail climbs out of the wash on a rutted steep climb that is washed out and dug out. It is easy to miss this turn out of the wash; without a map, you wouldn't know it's there. It climbs up a rocky trail between the hills, with deep ruts and embedded rocks. You have to float the front through the ruts, or you'll get your pegs stuck. There are several really rocky loose climbs full of baby heads on steep uphills, followed by a narrow side-hilling descent. There are one-foot rock ledges in the climbs, as well. The trail continues to go up and down the hills, with deep rutted sections, and more technical climbs. This trail is less trafficked and would be difficult to follow without a map.
