Trail Overview

The east end of this trail starts as a wide trail through beautiful cholla cactus fields surrounded by giant saguaros. It's two-track width in the beginning but narrows into a singletrack as it keeps going. It's tighter between the overgrown spiky bushes at times, with fewer tracks. This trail has some pretty tricky climbs that are full of loose ruts, embedded rocks, and deep ruts, in addition to being really steep. There are several intermediate rock ledge obstacles, such as 1-foot tall shelves at the top of a climb or a steep and chunky embedded rock face that you must ride up. There's a really steep dip into a rocky wash crossing and another loose and steep spot with small embedded rock ledges as it drops into another wash. Be prepared for moderate obstacles throughout the entire 3-mile route. Since this trail is partially on Arizona State Trust Land, it requires a recreation permit that you can obtain online.
