Trail Overview

The west end of this short but challenging ATV trail starts as it peels off from a wash on a wide two-track, climbing up into the hills. The trail is covered in loose gravel and dirt. It's easy at first, but it will get much harder. The trail has big ruts and goes into a wash with embedded rock layers forming small ledges. They are 1-foot tall blunt ledges with lots of loose rocks. It climbs out of the wash up a rutted hill climb and goes through a fence, traversing around the hillsides, with a very rutted descent down into another rocky wash. This one is full of boulders, so tire placement through the wash will be key. There's a rock pinch down a ledge that will be tight for ATVs. Overall, it's pretty challenging with all the rock features, but it is pretty scenic in the canyon wash and is easier for a dirt bike. This trail ends when it becomes dirt bike designation in the wash, and ATVs can bail out through the wash onto a road. Since this trail is partially on Arizona State Trust Land, it requires a recreation permit that you can obtain online.

Difficulty

This is a challenging trail for an ATV due to several rock features, including a couple-foot-tall rock ledges, plus a constantly rocky surface full of boulders. It's more difficult for ATVs because it pinches down at the rock features and will be narrow. It is an intermediate trail for dirt bikes.
