Trail Overview

This is an intermediate dirt bike trail through the Hieroglyphic Mountains with moderate obstacles and beautiful views of the saguaro-filled desert. The trail's north end comes off an intersection with another dirt bike trail and gradually starts heading southeast through the mountains atop a ridgeline, going steeply up and down small hills. After a mile, it mostly descends through the mountains from north to south, doing some shelfy side-hilling on the descent. There are lots of loose rocks of varying sizes on the trail. It descends the ridge line from high up on the mountaintop. The descent is loose, with many small stones and deep ruts throughout the steep grade. There are a couple of rockier sections with mid-size embedded boulders at the top of the hills that you must ride over or pick your way through. It descends and drops into a wash. The wash is overgrown with branches, gravelly, flat, and smooth with small, loose rocks. It continues south in the wash until the intersection with the 31063 dirt bike trail. Since this trail is on Arizona State Trust Land, you are required to obtain a recreation permit online.
