Three Lakes Loop Road is mostly a dirt, gravel, and large rip rap road. It is a maintained road. This road has many connecting roads with lots of outdoor recreation. It is a one lane road that is wide enough in most areas to move over for oncoming vehicles. Multiple old wooden bridges crossing over creeks. There are four campsites, three hiking trails (Sand Lake trail, Hill Lake Trail, and Crane Lake trail. Lots of wildlife along this main road and offshoots. Bear, Beaver, and Deer. There are some deep potholes along the road and next to the old wooden bridges. Overall, this road is a nice road with scenic views of creeks, meadows, and forested areas, as well as access to 3 Lakes by hiking trails, and access to many scenic roads. There are a lot of wildlife in this area. Be safety minded as there are bears, Deer, beavers, and Porcupines along this road. Weather plays a part in the level of difficulty as this is in a rainforest and a lot of these roads are going through areas of muskeg/wetlands. There are sections of loose rock and parts of the road have drop offs where there is a gain in elevation. There are great views of muskeg/wetlands. This road starts on Highway 7 and loops around to end in a different section of Highway 7. Large skunk cabbage, devils club, tall grass, as well as a variety of trees, lichens, moss and flowers can be seen along the road. Views: Meadows, creeks, and forested scenics. Bridges: 3 old wooden bridges. Warnings: Keep on the road (Muskeg and wetlands), watch for signs of road deterioration or washouts due to heavy rainfall. Be mindful of wildlife, especially Bears. No cell service noted. Check weather conditions and be prepared for rain, fog with low visibility, and lower temperatures. It is a rainforest. Suggested best time of year: June - October
