#8 Timber Rattler

Trail Overview

Trail #8, Timber Rattler, is a rocky and sustained ascent that begins with large rock obstacles right from the start and continues with challenging terrain throughout its length. The trail features numerous technical sections that require careful spotting and precise tire placement, but most high-clearance 4x4 vehicles can navigate them successfully. One important detail to note is that the official trail makes a right turn to remain within park boundaries, even though an unmarked path appears to continue straight ahead -- exercise caution and follow the map closely to stay on the correct route. After the turn, Timber Rattler winds through a tight, twisting path in the woods before eventually exiting onto Trail #6 (Mountainside).
