Trail Overview
The Sierra de Kila Wash is a scenic, entry-level off-road trail that offers a mix of mild terrain and beautiful coastal views. Starting just north of San Felipe, the trail initially passes through a heavily littered area often used as a local dumping ground. However, once you crest the first hill--climbing over 175 feet--the scenery transforms. From the top, the trail descends toward Playa Blanca, unveiling panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and the shimmering Sea of Cortez. The route runs roughly parallel to the coastline, weaving through bumpy, hard-packed sand dotted with small rocks and occasional stretches of sandy whoops. Despite the trash at the start, the majority of the trail offers a peaceful and picturesque desert experience.
