Trail Overview
This trail kicks off from Mexico 5, leading you across the salt flats for a swift and smooth ride. In dry conditions, particularly if you stick to the well-marked raised dirt road, there's little to fret about. While the initial stretch can be tackled with ease in 2-wheel drive, veering left takes you off the clay-like surface and into the silt-laden sandy whoops, a segment of the Baja 500 course. Here, cautious handling of speed and precise wheel placement are imperative. Once past the silt section and upon turning left again, you'll find yourself back on Mexico 5. High-clearance, larger tires, and the ability to air down and up are recommended.

Difficulty
While generally not challenging, the portion of the trail leading back to the highway features silt and whoops reaching depths of up to 24 inches. Driving cautiously with deflated tires offers a smooth journey, and while there aren't significant silt traps, having ample clearance is essential for navigating this section safely. When crossing salt flats in Mexico, it's advisable to stick to established tracks. Despite appearances, seemingly dry sections on the surface may reveal themselves as wet and muddy once you break through.
