Trail Overview
Que Comience la Carrera, also known as "Let the Race Begin," is an exciting yet mellow, scenic trail that begins in the heart of San Felipe. Then it skirts the outer edge of San Felipe, blending desert driving with glimpses of everyday Baja life. This trail was the beginning of the recent 2025 Baja 250. It kicks off with a half-mile stretch of smooth, deep sand. The next mile is small to large whoops and uneven terrain. Gradually easing into smoother terrain miles two (2) to six (6) as it has been recently graded, offering a fast, smooth finish through wide-open desert framed by ranch lands. Stunning views of the surrounding mountain ranges unfold as you drive, with the glint of the sea visible in the distance. Caution: Between miles 6 and 7, there's an active, unmarked pipe trench crossing the trail. It's not flagged and can be dangerous at speed--proceed carefully in this section.

Difficulty
Que Comience la Carrera beginner-friendly and ideal for a relaxed cruise or shake-down run. But the small section after the highway underpass can be a little challenging and the sand can be deep in places, so airing down is recommended. As long as you stay alert near the trench, this trail delivers smooth lines and great views without much punishment.
