Trail Overview

This is an easy route as long as it's dry, but stay on the packed track. If it's wet, take the gravel high route that parallels the lake to the west. Once you reach the abandoned olive orchard, the road turns towards the canyon mouth and becomes increasingly rugged. High clearance is helpful, but you will see a number of smaller vehicles at the hot springs. The springs campgrounds are popular and reservations are necessary during weekends.

Difficulty

Other than a short section of rocky road at the mouth of the canyon, this is a fast drive across a dry lake bed.
