Trail Overview

Starting near El Rosario, this route takes you on a remarkably well-maintained remote road, suitable for 2WD vehicles under dry conditions. As you venture away from El Rosario, you unfortunately encounter a local landfill, which significantly impacts the surroundings. However, after the initial mile or so, the landscape transforms into a breathtaking journey through the secluded desert. As you approach the halfway point of the route, glimpses of the ocean begin to appear, gradually becoming a constant companion as you traverse alongside the water for the latter half of the trip. Beyond the halfway mark, various side roads beckon exploration, leading to exceptional camping spots, areas where locals mine polished rocks, and perhaps even a few desirable surf breaks. Upon reaching Punta San Antonio, you will discover an old Fonatur Marina that now serves as a fishing outpost, accompanied by a picturesque lighthouse.
