Trail Overview
This route connects the main stretch of Highway 1 leading to Northern Baja with the San Juan de la Costa section of Highway 1. Approaching from the north or northwest, the path is wide open, but entering from the southeast or the main highway may require you to unhook a chain, open, and securely re-close a gate. The initial stretch is heavily corrugated but improves as you near the town of Alfredo Bonfil. Along the way, you'll encounter intriguing bridges, notable landmarks, and a sizable ranch. After reaching Alfredo Bonfil, a right turn offers a smoother ride thanks to sandy, multi-lane paths. Alternatively, continuing straight past the town takes you northwest, where the road aligns with the Coastal Highway in a more direct line.
