Trail Overview

Side Quest offers one of the most scenic and geologically striking off-road experiences in the Sonoran Desert. This iconic route winds through narrow, rock-walled canyons and broad desert washes, framed by rugged mountains, towering cliffs, and an abundance of desert flora and fauna. It's a favorite for 4x4 enthusiasts seeking adventure without extreme difficulty.

Difficulty

Uneven, rutted dirt trail with potential for loose rocks and sandy washes. Water crossings are less than a foot deep. Potential for mud holes and trail obstacles up to 12 inches, including ledges and short, steep grades. Roads are typically one vehicle wide with places to pass.

Super easy trail, i notice one of the reports on here says its not but that guy must’ve been in a corrolla or something because its a mostly flat wash with basket ball sized rocks here and there that can easily be avoided if necessary, the hardest obtacle here is working your way through simple sand beds but as long as youre able to do that its just a beautiful country drive. Done in a stock 91 4runner.

very easy wash to run, one or two spots where its tight with trees, youll get pinstriping, but those spots both had bypasses, connects into sandman and gets harder from there, very nice trail

This is not an easy open trail for a 4x4 vehicle. There are borders and rocks obstructing the trail. A dirt bike or atv will fit but not a full size vehicle.

Access Description

From Florence, head southeast on Highway 79, then turn east onto Price Road. Continue until you reach Box Canyon Road, the entrance to the trail on the left. The route connects with other popular trails in the area Ajax Mine, Elvis, and Woodpecker Mine, creating opportunities for longer adventures.
