Trail Overview

This 6-mile out-and-back trail starts and ends on Beardsley Lake Reservoir Road, 1.5 miles from Highway 108, dropping over 800 feet in 3 miles. The hard-packed dirt surface is 1.5 to 2 vehicles wide, cutting through a mature pine forest. This logging trail is a windy road that slowly drops into the valley with some peeks of the valley below and hills across. The trail is popular for hunters in the fall season. Be aware and follow seasonal fire restrictions in the area. At mile 1.7, the trail gets rockier and more narrow. At mile 1.9, there are very deep ruts up to 18 inches deep at the low point before climbing again. At mile 2.2, branches and brush become overgrown, and wide vehicles may get Sonora Pass pinstripes. The trail ends at mile 2.6 due to fallen trees.
