Jerkemtight

Trail Overview

Jerkemtight, also known as State Route 399, is a short, simple trail on a gravel surface with several large dips and potholes. The entry climb is perhaps the only significant challenge. A low-water crossing sits roughly halfway along the route. After this crossing, the maintained gravel road curves right and climbs the mountain toward the spur for Tom Lee Draft. Jerkemtight continues straight on a less-maintained dirt path. The trail ends shortly afterward at a closed gate. There's ample room at this location to turn vehicles around or to park multiple vehicles. The shaded area near the gate also provides a suitable space for camping. Vegetation overgrowth is minimal throughout the route. Jerkemtight primarily serves as an access trail to Tom Lee Draft, which offers a more engaging and varied experience. Users should expect to encounter locals along this route while open. Seasonal access is limited to hunting periods, from April 1 through May 16 and again from October 1 through January 15.
