Trail Overview
If you're trying to get onto dirt (or sand) as soon as you're off the freeway, run this instead of taking Old Hwy 61 into the rest of the state forest. It's an easy trail overall, but in dry conditions the sand can get pretty loose. Not a problem with 4x4 and decent tires. After rain, there are a few puddles, but most are hard-bottomed. There are a couple short hills and some mild off-camber sections, nothing extreme. For dirt bike riders, especially if you don't have much sand experience, it can be a little challenging but it's a good, forgiving place to work on balance, traction, rut management, and line choice.

Difficulty
The only challenge you'll encounter on this trail is dealing with the loose sand. If you're on four wheels, use 4x4 and don't spin your tires. On two wheels, smooth clutch & throttle, maintaining some speed and staying loose is the name of the game.
