Trail Overview

This is an easy, one-way trail with a few places to pass and some rocky and washed out sections. You'll find a handful of dispersed campsites and some great views of Idaho Springs. The end of the trail is a gate that leads to private property, and there is plenty of room to turn around there.

Difficulty

Trail has some rocky sections and steep grades at times.

Snow and wet dotted until about 1/3 of the way up where it became only snow. My highway tired couldn’t get traction so we had to turn around. Better tires recommend. Mostly rocky, occasional water erosion maxing my articulation on stock suspension.

There were multiple sections with thick ice. The first switch back was difficult but we made it past there, only to get to a hill that we couldn’t get up. We were just spinning and started sliding backwards with no control. We backed very far down and left.
