Trail Overview

This is a fun trail along the edge of Union Park before climbing through the trees. It passes an old mining cabin that is known as the Christmas Cabin. It is decorated with Christmas decorations year round. The trail becomes rocky as it climbs through the trees. There are places to ride up the side banks to get an adrenaline rush. The trail becomes less rocky at the top as you drop into the Tin Cup Basin. Watch for moose along the route.

This is a narrow, rocky and bumpy trail that is very enjoyable to drive.

The western section is definitely not a 3. Easily a 5. I did this after Tincup and it was absolutely more technical and required more clearance than Tincup. There's a very tight section that I would not want to take a full-size truck on. If you start on the west end you will come to the rough parts very quickly, so you can bail if needed. But if you start on the east end, you are pretty committed by the time you get to the challenging parts. Earned some fresh scrapes on the rock sliders and skids. Absolutely gorgeous, would love to do again. GX470 with mild lift and 32s.

West half of the trail is extremely deteriorated. This section of trail could be 6+ difficulty.

Headed west down trail narrow trees along the creek. Found one section a short distance with some tall rocks requiring spotting and stacking rocks to get through without scraping in my Basesquatch Bronco 35" tires. Fun trail otherwise came across a few hikers along the way.
