Trail Overview

Ryan's Trail is a fun dirt bike trail across the Laguna Hills that is mostly fast and flowy, and ideal for riders of all skill levels. It follows a narrow singletrack across small rolling hills, on a packed surface of loose rocks and dirt, with frequent dips into small ravines and wash crossings. The beginning of the trail is marked with the name of the trail, and there are frequent rock cairns throughout, but there are also several unmarked intersections, so it's helpful to have your GPS map out here. The trail has small climbs and descents up and over the rolling hills, most of it being very gradual. It passes the intersection with Moon Rocks and keeps winding atop the rolling hills, paralleling a big ravine, in a scenic rocky landscape with a few wildflowers in spring. Most of the trail is very flowy and easy, with no major obstacles, but it is often narrow.

Access Description

There are several dirt bike trails within the Laguna Hills trail system near Fortuna Foothills, Arizona. There isn't a formal staging area, but riders can access the trails through the system of roads north of the canal. There are a couple of parking and staging options. On the east side of the trail system, you can park at the west end of Adair Park Road and enter the trail system at the levee. There are several small camp spots along the canal on the levee road. On the northwest side of the trail system, you can also enter at the other levee (from South Laguna Dam Road), and you'll find easy dispersed camping here as well. You can also access this trail system from Mittry Lake, which is a popular spot for camping as well.
