Trail Overview
Chertsey Trail - Back Section (11 km round trip) This 11 km out-and-back route covers the northern section of the Chersey Trail and is significantly more technical than the southern part. Don't be misled by the initial gravel roads -- once you enter the woods and reach the rocky staircases, the difficulty increases substantially. Expect deep water crossings (up to 30" even during the dry season) and scattered mud holes that may conceal hidden rocks beneath the surface. For this trail, 33" tires and a minimum of 11" ground clearance are strongly recommended. Skid plates are highly advised, especially for vehicles without adequate clearance. At the end of the trail, a U-turn is required. Do not attempt to cross the small creek -- instead, tread lightly and help preserve the environment.
